What's up with France right now? In the past couple of years the French have given us some of the most mind-blowing pop music since…well, since ever. We'd just gotten over our fixation with Justice when along came Phoenix to run away with our hearts. Now that we're just getting over that love affair, in waltzes JAMAICA to sweep us off of our feet. Also, what's up with all these Parisian bands that are named after other places?
Apparently the two dudes in Jamaica used to be in a band we never heard of called Poney Poney. Here is what they have to say about being called Jamaica.

Hello everyone!
We're now called Jamaica. Because this is a great band's name, because we're off for a fresh start and we hope you follow us.
Our first album is in the making these days, almost done. It's produced by Xavier de Rosnay and Peter Franco in a basement somewhere in Paris. We're extremely enthusiastic about it. For those who knew Poney Poney, you'll find some songs you might have heard before, only enhanced or completely changed. And a lot of new things too.
Our first video is being completed these days by So-Me for our first single. It's called "I Think I Like U 2" and will feature extremely impressive technologies like photography, drawing and such. You'll get to understand the band's name too.
Impressive technologies like photography and drawing! I can't wait! Also, these guys are named Antoine and Flo. ANTOINE AND FLO?!?! I'm having a total cute attack right now.
