It's really hot in New York City right now….like, super hot. Like, you-could-maybe-cook-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk kind of hot. While everyone else is out running through sprinklers and throwing steamy rooftop parties, I've been biking around town and trying to find out which city pool is the best place to cool off. So far, the perfect soundtrack to my summer has been the new EP from
TWIN SISTER called
Color Your Life. The Brooklyn band makes really beautiful, somewhat ethereal pop music that sounds like a really sweet daydream.
So far the band has only two short EPs to their name (both of which are available on their
website), but I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before a bigger label snatches them up and they release a full-length record. At a time when so many bands (especially in Brooklyn) are so aggressively lo-fi and noisy, it's really refreshing to hear a band that's trying to make music that is so unabashedly lovely.
The band is on tour all summer long, so check the website for dates as well as links to snatch up some of their tunes.
Keep cool, friends. It's gonna be a long summer.
